A customer wished to install a state-of-the-art L-band satellite transceiver on a KingAir 350 without going through a full Supplemental Type Certification (STC) testing process with the Federal Aviation Administration.  A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed in lieu of physical testing to show airworthiness.  The customer was able to obtain authorization for installation with the FEA substantiation instead of spending weeks in the lab with lab and equipment fees,
